Wool grown on the Taylors Run properties is of premium quality 70’s, 80’s and 90’s style, soft and bright superfine wool.
We pride ourselves on consistent production for over 160 years. Our average micron measurement is 16.5 um and with an average of 75% yields and >55kN staple strengths from sheep grazed on native and improved pastures.
Our wool is purchased and used by many of the top processors and spinners in the world. Over the last few decades much our wool has been directly sold to the well known Italian processor, Giovanni Schneider and most recently to REDA. Wool from Taylors Run has gone into some the finest fabrics in the world including Carlo Barbera, Vitale Barberis and REDA of Italy.
The wool brand originates from that used by the Taylor families of “Terrible Vale”, Kentucky. Due to it’s significance in our wool growing history, it has been maintained by two of the family properties. Currently there are 6 Taylor family properties, 4 of which are being run by 6th generation descendants. Our sheep are grazed on natural open pastures on the New England Tablelands of Australia.
