Striving for a Better Future
TAYLORS RUN
Natural Capital
At Taylors Run, we recognise that the health of our land underpins everything we do. Natural capital refers to the world’s stocks of natural assets – including soil, water, air, flora and fauna – that provide ecosystem services essential to agricultural productivity and community wellbeing.
We believe farming should enhance, not diminish, these assets. Through considered land stewardship, regenerative practices and agroforestry systems, we aim to build resilience, biodiversity and long-term value.
FARM-SCALE NCA ASSESSMENT
Natural Capital Accounting
Taylors Run has undertaken a Farm-scale Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) Assessment to better understand, measure and manage the environmental assets across the property.
Our Natural Capital report provides:
1. A baseline assessment of ecological condition;
2. Identification of key environmental assets;
3. Measurement of biodiversity, vegetation and landscape function; and
4. Insights to guide future land management decisions.
The report reflects our commitment to transparency, continuous improvement and evidence-based stewardship.

Latrobe University Farm-scale Natural Capital Report 2022
This account has been prepared by the core Farm-scale Natural Capital Accounting project team of Danny O’Brien, Rachel Lawrence, Imogen Semmler and Sue Ogilvy (Integrity Ag), Angela Hawdon (Bush Heritage Australia) and James Radford, Fred Rainsford, Alex Maisey and Grace Sutton (La Trobe University).
This account has been prepared for research purposes, including the development of natural capital measurement and accounting methods. It contains the Natural Capital Accounts and an explanation of how the accounts have been developed.

OUR APPROACH
Agroforestry in Action
Trees are central to our landscape strategy.
Through agroforestry, we intentionally integrate trees and shrubs into grazing systems to create environmental and productive benefits that work in harmony.
This approach strengthens:
- Soil structure and nutrient cycling
- Carbon sequestration
- Habitat connectivity and biodiversity
- Livestock welfare and farm resilience
Agroforestry allows us to diversify production while restoring ecological function - proving that environmental care and agricultural performance are not opposing forces, but mutually reinforcing outcomes.
COLLABORATION
